My persona in the Society for Creative Anachronism is that of a 12th century woman living in central Wales. I am the widowed daughter of a married priest who is attached to the court of Madog ap Meredydd, the ruler of the area known as Powys.
In real life my persona is living in the Shire of Schattentor on the far western edge of the Kingdom of Northshield.
I am mostly interested in the fiber arts, especially spinning (when I am gifted with or can afford wool!), card (tablet) weaving, and lucet cord making. I was given a challenge a few years ago to also learn kumihimo, which I occasionally try and tangle up.
I am also interested in cooking from medieval recipes, though mostly I use ones that have already been redacted to a modern version by someone else. (However various authors have often recreated the same recipe in wildly different forms, and I enjoy trying to combine the varying versions into a cohesive whole.)
You can find out more about the SCA, the kingdom of the Northshield, and the shire of Schattentor.
It's supposed to hang on a banner stand the way it does in the first picture, but it has ties down the side so it can be attached at both the sides and top. As you can see, sometimes a proper stand wasn't available, however the second photo shows the design better. Schattentor is still using it at events.
